A Retreat Venue Created for Meaningful Transformation

Private retreat venue in Costa Rica surrounded by tropical gardens and Nicoya mountains

The environment in which a retreat takes place matters.

Ancient Soul Retreats lies in the green mountains of Costa Rica’s Nicoya region, away from crowded tourist centres and surrounded by tropical nature. Mountain views, gardens, walking trails and the sound of birds and flowing water create a natural transition out of everyday life.

This is not simply accommodation with a room for yoga. The entire finca is being shaped around the needs of intimate retreats: privacy, presence, nourishing food, meaningful gathering spaces and a direct relationship with the living landscape.

Your participants can move naturally between guided sessions, shared meals, quiet reflection and time outdoors. They can practise in the open-air shala, rest in peaceful accommodation, walk through the gardens or visit the waterfall.

The result is a retreat experience that feels held without feeling controlled, comfortable without becoming disconnected from nature, and intimate enough for genuine connection.

Ancient Soul Retreats is especially suited to:

  • yoga and meditation retreats;
  • breathwork and embodiment programs;
  • personal-development and coaching retreats;
  • burnout recovery and nervous-system regulation;
  • creative and writing retreats;
  • conscious leadership gatherings;
  • small therapeutic or educational groups;
  • spiritual and transformational programs.

Why Host Your Retreat at Ancient Soul Retreats?

An Intimate Venue for Up to 12 People in Total

Ancient Soul Retreats is intentionally small.

With a maximum capacity of 12 people in total—including the host, any co-facilitator and retreat participants—your group is not lost inside a large resort or sharing the property with unrelated groups. The intimate scale supports personal attention, deeper connection and a stronger sense of community.

It also gives you the freedom to shape the daily rhythm around your own program rather than adapting your retreat to the timetable of a hotel.

Privacy for Your Group

Your retreat group enjoys private use of the guest accommodation, yoga shala and shared retreat areas during your stay.

This creates a contained environment in which participants can relax, be themselves and remain connected to the retreat process throughout the day. There are no competing programs, crowded communal areas or unfamiliar resort guests moving through your group experience.

A Nature-Based Mountain Setting

The finca is surrounded by tropical vegetation, mountain views and open sky.

Participants can begin the morning with birdsong, practise surrounded by nature, share meals in the open air and allow the slower rhythm of the land to become part of the retreat.

A secluded 70-metre waterfall and natural walking routes offer space for reflection, mindful walks, nature practices or simply an unforgettable moment away from the program.

An Open-Air Yoga and Workshop Shala

The covered open-air shala provides a dedicated space for yoga, meditation, breathwork, movement and embodiment, sound journeys, group circles, teaching sessions, workshops and personal-development practices.

Its open design keeps your group sheltered while maintaining a direct connection with the surrounding landscape.

Regenerative and Organic Living

Ancient Soul Retreats is part of a living finca shaped by regenerative agriculture, agroforestry, permaculture and food-forest principles.

Fruit trees, herbs, flowers, edible plants and native vegetation form an evolving landscape around the retreat spaces. Wherever possible, ingredients from the finca and nearby producers become part of the meals served to your group.

This is not decorative landscaping added around a hotel. The land itself is part of the experience.

Personal Collaboration and Practical Support

No two retreats are the same.

Before your arrival, we take time to understand your purpose, program, group and practical requirements. Together, we consider the room arrangement, daily schedule, dietary needs, session setup, transportation and any excursions or nature experiences you would like to include.

During the retreat, our role is to support the environment and practical flow so that you can remain focused on your participants.

You lead the transformation. We help take care of the setting, nourishment and practical details.

Intimate Accommodation for Up to 12 People in Total

Peaceful accommodation for retreat guests at Ancient Soul Retreats in Costa Rica

Ancient Soul Retreats accommodates a maximum of 12 retreat guests in peaceful, bohemian-inspired spaces designed to feel connected to the landscape.

The accommodation offers a combination of private and shared sleeping arrangements, allowing us to explore the most suitable configuration for your group. Each space is intended to provide simplicity, comfort and a quiet place to rest and integrate between sessions.

When you request the venue details, please tell us:

  • your expected number of guests;
  • whether your participants prefer private or shared accommodation;
  • whether the facilitator requires a private room;
  • your preferred dates;
  • the length of your retreat.

We will provide the available room configuration and help you determine whether it suits your group and pricing model.

Food That Supports the Retreat Experience

Food is an essential part of a retreat. It affects energy, concentration, rest and the way participants feel cared for.

We provide fresh, nourishing meals inspired by the abundance of Costa Rica. Wherever possible, ingredients are grown on the finca or sourced from nearby producers.

Depending on the needs of your group, menus can include:

  • vegetarian meals;
  • vegan options;
  • gluten-free options;
  • fresh tropical fruit;
  • wholesome Costa Rican dishes;
  • salads, vegetables and nourishing plant-based meals;
  • herbal teas and natural refreshments.

Dietary requirements are discussed in advance so that the menu can support both your participants and the rhythm of your program.

Retreats We Welcome

Ancient Soul Retreats welcomes experienced facilitators, teachers, coaches, therapists and conscious organisations whose work respects both participants and the land. The retreat venue is particularly suited to programs that value:

  • authenticity over performance;
  • depth over large numbers;
  • connection over constant stimulation;
  • respect for nature;
  • personal responsibility;
  • thoughtful and ethical facilitation;
  • space for integration as well as activity.

You do not need to follow a particular spiritual tradition or retreat format. What matters is that your work is responsible, sincere and compatible with the intimate nature of the venue.

Your Team, Your Method, Your Retreat

We understand that your retreat carries your name, your relationships and your reputation.

Our role is not to impose a standard program. It is to provide the environment, nourishment and practical support in which your own work can be delivered with care.

You remain responsible for:

  • designing and facilitating your program;
  • marketing your retreat;
  • enrolling and communicating with participants;
  • collecting participant payments;
  • holding any professional qualifications, permissions or insurance required for your work.

We collaborate with you on the venue experience, accommodation, meals, practical planning and local logistics.

This clear division of responsibilities allows you to retain creative ownership while knowing that you are not managing every practical detail alone.

How the Process Works

Retreat facilitator planning a private retreat with a Costa Rica venue host
  • Tell Us About Your Retreat
    Share your preferred dates, approximate group size, retreat type and a brief description of your vision. You do not need to have every detail finalised. A general concept and preferred period are enough to begin.
  • Receive Availability and Venue Details
    We will review your inquiry and send you the relevant venue information, available dates, accommodation possibilities and indicative pricing.
  • Meet for a Discovery Call
    If the venue appears suitable, we schedule a conversation to explore your program, practical requirements and questions.
  • Receive a Tailored Proposal
    You receive a clear proposal covering the agreed dates, accommodation, meals, included services, optional additions, payment schedule and booking conditions.
  • Reserve Your Dates
    Once the agreement is signed and the deposit is received, your dates are secured and we begin planning the practical details together.

Plan Your Retreat in Costa Rica With Confidence

Choosing a venue is one of the most important decisions you will make as a retreat host.

Your participants may book international flights, take time away from work and place considerable trust in both you and the experience you are creating. You need more than beautiful photographs. You need clear communication, realistic planning and a venue that understands what is at stake.

Ancient Soul Retreats combines an intimate scale, private natural surroundings and personal collaboration. Our aim is to make the planning process clear and manageable from the first conversation through to your group’s departure.

You can begin without having every detail decided. Tell us:

  • your preferred dates or season;
  • approximate group size;
  • retreat length;
  • type of program;
  • what support you expect from the venue.

We will help you determine whether Ancient Soul Retreats is the right home for your retreat.

The physical development of the venue is underway. We will only offer and confirm retreat dates that we are confident we can deliver responsibly. Current progress information, recent images and visit possibilities are available to serious prospective hosts.

If your retreat values intimacy, nature, conscious living and meaningful transformation, we would love to hear what you are creating.

Each apartment has its own private entrance, while guests can enjoy the shared terrace and spacious garden. Meals are served in the on-site restaurant, and retreat groups have access to the central yoga and meditation hall as a dedicated group space. For a comfortable retreat experience, we recommend a minimum group size of 6 guests.

Will our group have exclusive use of the venue?Yes. Retreat groups receive private use of the guest accommodation, yoga shala and shared retreat areas during their stay.

The property is designed for intimate retreat experiences rather than multiple unrelated groups operating alongside one another.

What types of retreats can you host?The venue is suitable for yoga, meditation, breathwork, embodiment, personal development, coaching, creativity, conscious leadership, burnout recovery and other responsible transformational programs.

If your retreat has specific spatial, technical or professional requirements, include them in your inquiry so we can confirm whether the venue is suitable.

Is the yoga shala suitable for different practices?The covered open-air shala is designed for yoga, meditation, breathwork, movement, sound practices, workshops, teaching sessions and group circles.

Tell us how you intend to use the space and what equipment or setup your program requires. We will confirm what is available and discuss any additional arrangements.

Menus are discussed in advance and can accommodate vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free preferences. More specific allergies or medical dietary requirements must be disclosed early so we can confirm whether they can be accommodated safely.

Can you help arrange airport transfers?Yes. We can help coordinate reliable group transportation from the agreed airport or meeting point.

Transfer costs depend on the collection point, group size, arrival schedule and vehicle requirements. These will be quoted separately unless explicitly included in your proposal.

Can you help organise excursions?Yes. Depending on your program and group, we can help explore suitable local activities and nature experiences.

Possible arrangements will depend on the season, availability and travel time. Any third-party excursion and transportation costs will be shown separately.

Do you provide retreat participants?The facilitator is responsible for marketing the retreat and enrolling participants.

For selected aligned retreats, we may offer additional visibility through Ancient Soul Retreats’ website, mailing list or social channels. This is supportive promotion and should not be relied upon as the primary source of participants.

How much does it cost to host a retreat?From approximately USD 1,500 per day, depending on the length of your stay, the season, and your preferred arrangements. This rate is based on exclusive use of the entire retreat center for up to 12 people, accommodated in 6 apartments of 25 m² each, with a private bathroom and terrace. As a guest group, you will also have access to the yoga hall, restaurant, private waterfall, and food forest.
Submit an inquiry to receive current availability, venue details and indicative pricing. If the venue suits your needs, we will prepare a tailored proposal with a clear breakdown of what is included.

When can retreats be booked?We are accepting inquiries for retreats from may 2027 onward.

Because the venue is currently being completed, we maintain a deliberately limited initial calendar and only confirm dates that we can deliver responsibly.

Can I visit the property before booking?Yes, a private visit may be arranged for serious prospective hosts, subject to availability and the development schedule.

If an in-person visit is not practical, we can share recent images and video and arrange an online conversation to walk you through the venue and answer your questions

What happens after I submit an inquiry?We review your preferred dates, group size and retreat concept. If Ancient Soul Retreats appears to be a suitable match, we send you availability, venue details and indicative pricing.

The next step is a discovery call, followed by a tailored proposal if both sides would like to continue.
